DAV NORDIC has manufactured 11 custom-designed poles for Verdo, which now adorn Herning Square.

The request was for a slightly conical pole that could be used both for wire suspension and for lighting the square. The idea was developed and calculated in collaboration with Verdo, who actively contributed to the product development from start to finish.
The final product resulted in 11-meter tall round conical steel poles.
Even though the strength of the pole has been greatly increased compared to a normal conical pole, this is not noticeable to the naked eye. Internal reinforcements and special tools for conical poles make it possible to create a fully round design, even with thick materials.
The poles are also custom-designed with a ring at a height of 7 meters, which can be used for Christmas lighting and various other decorations. Additionally, mounted spotlights provide a reinterpreted lighting that adds atmosphere to the city.
The showcase of the poles is enhanced by a special pearl effect in the powder coating, which, combined with the design, contributes to a modern image that catches the eye. The color was carefully selected by Herning Municipality to achieve a uniform look. The specially coated poles can only be found in downtown Herning.
The project is designed to complement the previous renovation project of Herning Square. The square has been modernized and, in recent years, has hosted several events. Many new projects, including the poles, aim to help brand Herning.
The modern poles contribute to a minimalist yet stylish overall experience, which, together with the new projects established in the city, creates an elegant new dynamic.
In recent times, lighting poles have become more significant in the urban landscape. If you’re seeking inspiration for other special projects, we recommend taking a look below.
