Custom-designed canopy at JYSK’s warehouse in Ikast ensures dry conditions for goods delivery

DAV NORDIC has supplied a custom-designed canopy to JYSK in Ikast. A new type of warehouse shelter without support columns, ensuring dry conditions at goods reception

DAV NORDIC has for the first time delivered a specially designed canopy without support columns for use at goods reception. The solution has been supplied to JYSK’s new store in Ikast, where the canopy covers the loading bay used daily by trucks for loading and unloading. The canopy provides shelter from the weather and improves working conditions regardless of the season.

A new type of warehouse canopy

We have previously delivered canopies for bicycle parking, waste sorting and charging stations but the solution for JYSK’s warehouse in Ikast is a new development for us. The canopy has no supporting legs but is mounted directly onto the building’s façade, using both wall fixings and additional bracing. The braces are connected to the building’s structure via cast-in balcony brackets in the concrete elements.

This is a precise and technically demanding installation, which we carried out ourselves. The result is a sleek and space-saving canopy, elegantly integrated into the building facade while providing maximum functionality.

Collaboration with Daugaard Pedersen – also in Middelfart

The delivery was carried out through turnkey contractor Daugaard Pedersen, who is also behind JYSK’s new store in Middelfart. Here we supplied a similar, though smaller, canopy based on the same principles. Contributing to JYSK’s logistics flow with a tailor-made solution is a task we are proud to have completed.

When function and design go hand in hand

The canopy not only protects goods from rain it also improves the working environment for the employees handling cargo at the loading bay. It demonstrates how DAV NORDIC can deliver flexible and aesthetic steel solutions, also for atypical assignments within warehouse logistics.
