In close partnership with OK a.m.b.a., DAV NORDIC has contributed to the development, production, and installation of covers for two new charging parks in Hammelev and Ikast, both of which were inaugurated earlier this year. The project began as part of a broader effort to strengthen Denmark’s charging infrastructure and make it easier for EV drivers to charge their vehicles at key traffic hubs.

A collaboration across expertise

The project has involved several partners, each contributing their expertise. DAV NORDIC supplied reinforcement and bolt groups for the foundations and provided steel columns and the roof structure for the covers, including downpipes, soffits, conduits, fascia cladding, and fall protection wires on the roof.

Nodo Arkitekter handled the design, while Niras conducted the structural calculations for the covers. DAV NORDIC’s subcontractor, Secher ApS, constructed the roof structure itself, and SB Tømrer ApS was responsible for installing the soffits and fascia.

Head of Department at OK, Dennis Kaab Erichsen, states:

“It was important for OK to find a supplier who could be an active partner in the processes, and DAV NORDIC has demonstrated great willingness and contributed to ensuring that we met our goals within the agreed time and budget. DAV is excellent at understanding the purpose of the task. It is a very professional company that makes an effort to understand the customers’ needs and takes the time to comprehend the role the customer plays.”

The project was completed without compromising on quality, functionality, or budget.

Comfort for EV drivers

The cover in Hammelev is approximately 42 meters long and 4 meters wide, while the cover in Ikast measures approximately 20 meters in length and 8 meters in width. Both structures are 4 meters high, providing protection for the charging stations and comfort for drivers, who can now stand under cover while charging their cars.

Head of Department Dennis Kaab Erichsen adds:

“We want to ensure that our customers have a great experience when using our charging facilities, and this has been a key factor in the construction of our new charging parks.”

A greener future for Denmark

It is an important milestone for DAV NORDIC and OK to contribute to a greener future by expanding the charging infrastructure in Denmark. The new charging parks in Hammelev and Ikast are a significant step toward providing EV drivers with better and more accessible charging options across the country.

With the continued expansion of the charging network, OK and DAV NORDIC look forward to being part of future charging parks that make everyday life easier for EV drivers and support the green transition.
