Roskildevej is one of the busiest arterial roads on Zealand, with between 5,000 and 11,000 vehicles passing daily. The road renovation has been long anticipated. The project not only beautified and improved traffic safety but also climate-proofed the road, ensuring it can withstand both a 5-year and a 50-year rain event. The renovation included Albertslund’s section of Roskildevej, with all existing poles replaced by long-lasting poles with LED lighting, allowing the municipality to save 50% on their energy bill.

Decoration and beautification of roskildevej

Albertslund Municipality has prioritized decorating roads and squares with designer poles for several years, and Roskildevej is no exception. The 300 Mads Odgaard poles are made of aluminum and are passive safety poles that enhance traffic safety. They were supplied with elegant design lighting, produced by Louis Poulsen. The poles were anodized to achieve a unique light gray color. In addition to the poles, DAV NORDIC also manufactured custom foundations at its factory in Silkeborg for the project. To manage the large order, a storage facility was established on Zealand. All poles and foundations were installed by Bravida, who also handled the cabling and other related tasks.
