A 34-meter-high pylon towers over exit 42 in Korsør. The pylon itself has been supplied by DAV NORDIC, Denmark’s largest mast supplier, which has now entered the market for large-scale pylons. The pylon is used for signage for businesses in the area.

20-sided giant

The 34-meter-high pylon was delivered to BN Skilte A/S, the main contractor for the project in Korsør, managing everything from excavation and casting to installation, LED signage, and electrical work. The pylon is 20-sided and designed as a conical steel mast. Its multiple sides enhance the structure’s strength, with a diameter of 195 cm at the base and 66 cm at the top. In principle, several people could fit inside the construction.

The mast stands 34 meters tall, painted in anthracite gray. Of the total height, 30 meters are visible above ground, while 4 meters are buried underground to stabilize the structure due to poor soil conditions. This underground portion ensures the pylon remains secure on its foundation. Efforts were made to minimize environmental impact through material optimization.

The mast was manufactured by Metalogalva in Portugal based on designs provided by DAV NORDIC. The pylon has been approved by a certified structural engineer in compliance with KK2 safety regulations for personal safety.
