DAV NORDIC invests in new, modern trucks

DAV NORDIC has invested in two new trucks and a new TMA that contribute to an even safer and more efficient working day for our employees.

Silkeborg, Denmark, November 3rd 2025 – DAV NORDIC has once again invested in the future. We have just taken delivery of two new trucks for our road technicians and a new TMA (Truck Mounted Attenuator), which will contribute to an even safer and more efficient working day for our employees and partners on the country’s roads.

The new vehicles are distributed between DAV NORDIC’s two departments – Bjæverskov and Silkeborg – strengthening capacity across the country.

One of the trucks and the new TMA will be based at our Bjæverskov office, while the third truck will be stationed at our headquarters in Silkeborg. This investment is part of our ongoing strategy to renew and optimize our fleet, ensuring that operational reliability, occupational safety, and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.

Focus on safety and efficiency

The new TMA is an important addition to our equipment, as it plays a central role in protecting both employees and road users. With more than 15 years of experience using this type of equipment, we have seen firsthand how effectively it provides protection.

Despite all the safety measures we take when working on roads, collisions do still occur — on average, two to three each year — but with a TMA of this type, we have never experienced a fatal accident. The TMA is equipped to ensure optimal energy absorption in the event of a collision, making roadwork even safer.

Safety has always been a cornerstone of our work. With the new TMA, we can continue to meet the highest standards and give our technicians the best possible conditions when they’re out on the roads.

At the same time, the two new trucks are designed and equipped to best and most efficiently support our technicians’ work on the roads. It is essential that their tools function optimally to ensure a good and safe working environment.

Ready to drive greener – with HVO 100 diesel

A major upgrade in the new trucks is that they can run on HVO 100 diesel which is a fuel made from 100% renewable raw materials such as vegetable oils and animal waste fats.

HVO stands for Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil and is a type of biodiesel that emits up to 90% less CO₂ than traditional fossil diesel.

Although the infrastructure for HVO diesel is not yet fully developed in Denmark, DAV NORDIC is already ready to make the switch when the opportunity becomes more widely available and when our customers demand it.

We want to stay ahead. When we invest in new equipment, we do it with a long-term perspective. HVO 100 gives us flexibility, and that means we can reduce our climate footprint as soon as the fuel becomes more accessible and our customers request lower CO₂ emissions.

Ulrik Toft Marcussen, CEO of DAV NORDIC

A realistic green alternative

As the green transition increasingly shapes the transport sector, electric vehicles are often in focus. However, for heavy-duty work trucks that drive long distances and often operate in areas without charging infrastructure, electric solutions are not yet always practical.

Here, HVO 100 diesel offers a realistic and immediate way to reduce CO₂ emissions without compromising on performance or range.

“Of course, we closely follow developments in electric trucks, but we also have to face the realities of construction sites and roadworks. In this context, HVO 100 can be an important step toward more sustainable operations, until electric technology and infrastructure fully mature,” says Ulrik Toft Marcussen.

An investment in the future

With the new trucks and TMA, DAV NORDIC has not only upgraded our equipment, we’ve also taken another step toward a more modern, flexible, and responsible operation.

The investment reflects our holistic approach, where workplace safety, efficiency, and environmental considerations are all in focus.

The new vehicles are already in service, and our employees have welcomed them enthusiastically. Alongside the rest of our fleet, they will help ensure that DAV NORDIC continues to deliver top-class solutions for road safety and infrastructure well into the future.
