68 Tons of Steel Delivered to Aalborg

68 tons of steel have been delivered and installed across four bridges, which have undergone extensive renovation as part of the new noise barrier project in Aalborg. These massive amounts of steel are essential for supporting the high noise barrier on the existing bridges, which previously did not require such reinforcement.

Custom-Designed Steel Girders

The steel girders have been custom-designed for each bridge, requiring specialized solutions. The bridge on the Ådal Motorway is designed as a pendulum structure, allowing movement along its length during summer and winter due to temperature fluctuations.

For the other three bridges, steel arms are installed to provide additional support underneath, ensuring the structures are strong enough to bear the noise barrier. The construction also includes the installation of gutters to ensure proper drainage from the bridges.

Strong Collaboration Across the Project

As the main contractor, DAV NORDIC has worked closely with fitters from PL Klejnsmed and crane operators from Christian Rytter to complete this project.

Careful planning and intense effort were required to finish all four bridges within three weeks while minimizing traffic disruptions as much as possible. DAV NORDIC’s project manager, Christoffer H. Jensen, has been on-site himself, assisting with the installation.

It is always exciting to see things come together. In this project, we placed extra focus on the precision of our drilling work on the underside of the bridges, as this was crucial to ensuring everything fit correctly. When it all comes together successfully, it is always a great satisfaction to be part of

Having a project manager overseeing the process from start to finish, ensuring smooth execution from design to completion, is invaluable. This role is a key priority in all our projects.

The final work is expected to be completed by week 11.
