Lattice masts

A mast for multiple purposes

The lattice mast is a versatile mast that can be used for various purposes and is suitable for multiple types of infrastructure projects – including critical infrastructure. We have particular expertise in the following application areas:

Telecom

Telecom infrastructure is rapidly evolving and is classified as critical infrastructure, placing high demands on the masts that support the antenna equipment. This requires high performance and durability, making the lattice mast an ideal choice.

Lighting

Lattice masts for lighting are often used in ports, airports, and areas requiring extensive coverage. Due to the high load-bearing capacity of the lattice mast, they can also be used for cable systems. The height of the lighting mast typically ranges from 12 to 40 meters but can be made taller if needed.

High voltage

High-voltage infrastructure is rapidly developing, and the lattice mast has the right properties to support the needs within this field. Our experience includes lightning masts, prefabricated foundations, frames, platforms, and high-voltage masts up to 400kV, as well as other substation equipment.

Meteorology

Lattice masts for meteorology can be either guyed or self-supporting, depending on the height and location of the mast. We place great emphasis on the climate conditions the mast will be exposed to and the expected performance requirements.

Surveillance & Radar

Masts for surveillance and radar require close collaboration and discretion with our partner regarding the mast’s requirements. For example, we consider the security level specified by our partner or end users. The same applies to radar masts, where stability in all weather conditions plays a crucial role.

Steel structures

Lattice structures can be much more than just masts. For example, they can be portals spanning roads, supporting large VMS signs, or large pylons seen along highways. They can also include conveyor belt bridges. What these structures have in common is that lattice construction is ideal due to its high load-bearing capacity.

Why choose a lattice mast?

The advantages of lattice masts are numerous, making them an ideal choice for various specific applications that require strength, height, stability, and durability.

The lattice structure of the mast provides exceptional strength, even at great heights. This means it can support significantly heavier loads than other types of masts, such as particularly heavy lighting fixtures, cameras, or antenna equipment.

Lattice masts can be built taller than many other types of masts without compromising strength or stability while maintaining a lighter and less invasive appearance in the environment. We have no height limitations for our masts—the only constraint is the type of steel that can be manufactured.

High durability and long lifespan are also key advantages of our lattice masts. All our lattice masts are hot-dip galvanized according to EN ISO 1461, making them highly resistant to corrosion.

With these many advantages, we will work closely with you to determine whether a lattice mast meets the specific requirements of your project.

Quality and Standards

Regardless of the purpose of the lattice masts, quality is always a central focus.

To ensure that you receive a product of the highest quality, our quality department has established processes and procedures that, throughout the entire project, guarantee the masts comply with current regulations and meet your requirements and expectations. Additionally, we have an extensive supplier network with some of Europe’s largest steel producers, to whom we apply the same high standards as we do to ourselves.

The masts are calculated, manufactured, and CE-marked in accordance with EN 1090 and are made from S355 grade circular tubes. You can find all our certificates and other documentation here.

Therefore, you can always expect that our lattice masts provide the best performance and a long lifespan.

Installation of lattice masts

We have an experienced installation team ready to install your lattice masts, whether in Denmark, Scandinavia, or other countries in Europe. The advantage of our installers is their extensive experience and knowledge of installing all types of steel structures. However, if you prefer to handle the installation yourselves, that is always an option.

The lattice masts are delivered with base flanges for mounting on cast concrete foundations, but it is also possible to purchase an anchor bolt set for on-site casting. Read more about our various foundations here.

For easier maintenance and safety, it is possible to have steps installed, either fixed or removable. The steps come with an integrated safety line, making it easier to access and install or inspect fixtures at the top.

Pricing – the cost of a lattice mast

At DAV NORDIC, we base our lattice mast offerings on your specific project. This means, for example, that you won’t receive a mast that is too large or too strong, but instead, a product that precisely fits your needs. We always provide tailored solutions, which is why we do not offer a fixed price list. Instead, there are several factors that influence the price of the lattice masts:

Purpose
First and foremost, we consider the purpose the lattice masts are meant to serve, as this impacts the size and strength the mast must have.

Type of Steel
Another crucial factor is the type of steel to be used for the specific mast, as different types of steel have varying prices. The steel type is defined based on what the mast needs to support and the specific requirements and demands for the mast.

Installation
Installation is a key part of the solution for lattice masts. It is important that installation is considered from the beginning, whether it is something we handle or if you manage that part yourself, as it also affects the price of the overall project.
