A significant milestone has been reached in the improvement of sports facilities in Toftir, where DAV NORDIC has supplied four 24-meter-high lattice masts. These impressive masts will ensure optimal lighting at the local football stadium, creating the best possible conditions for both training sessions and matches—regardless of the time of day.
The lattice masts were delivered through a local electrical contractor, who was responsible for both planning and installation in collaboration with suppliers and local authorities. The new lighting will ensure that the football pitch can be used in all lighting conditions, which is crucial for the active players in the area.
The choice of lattice masts for sports lighting is due to several advantages. Lattice masts are known for their robust construction, making them resistant to strong winds and harsh weather conditions—an especially important factor in a climate like that of the Faroe Islands. Furthermore, lattice masts are lighter than solid steel masts, which makes them easier to transport and install. Their open structure also minimizes wind resistance, increasing both the stability and lifespan of the mast and the lighting system. DAV NORDIC’s lattice masts are hot-dip galvanized, making them resistant to corrosion and thereby contributing to greater durability and a longer service life.
