Robust protection of warehouse area with focus on operations, safety and tailored solutions

Bauhaus in Tilst required a safe and future-proof solution around their logistics area, where heavy traffic and tight manoeuvring place high demands on safety. We delivered a complete building protection solution that strengthens both operations and the working environment. The project covered two buildings and a total of 140 metres of building protection, adapted to local conditions and daily traffic patterns.

Effective building protection based on an H1 W3 system

Heavy-duty solutions from the road sector adapted for industrial buildings

For this project, we selected our H1 W3 system – a proven solution normally used on roads and motorways. The system provides documented strength and controlled deformation, making it particularly suitable as building protection around gates and façades where trucks operate close to the structure on a daily basis.

The poles were driven through the existing paving. Bauhaus subsequently restored the paving stones, leaving the area neat and fully functional again. This approach is an efficient way of installing building protection without major intervention in the existing surface – a significant advantage in busy logistics environments.

Building protection for both new and existing buildings

Consistent safety adapted to different conditions

Building protection was installed around both a new warehouse building and an existing part of the goods handling area. At the new building, both entrance gates were secured. Along the existing building, the façade facing the exposed driving zone was protected, creating a continuous and uniform safety solution across the entire area.

A customised solution was also required due to underground cables. This part of the work involved adapting the construction to avoid affecting existing installations. It highlights the importance of combining standardised systems with technical expertise and the ability to tailor solutions to site-specific conditions.

Custom solution at gate

Visual and physical protection combined in one solution

At one of the gates, an additional customised solution was implemented. Two B-profiles were mounted vertically and fitted with red and white reflective panels. This solution improves both visibility and safety and helps drivers orient themselves when passing through, particularly in low light or heavy traffic.

This type of solution demonstrates how enhanced safety and clear visual guidance can be integrated without altering the overall appearance of the area.
